Sitting in the tree stand a few does ran across the corn field at 7:30am. Being the day after opening day in Maryland, I thought maybe a buck could follow behind. Well he came up through the swamp 35 yards away soon after and he stopped at the pond made by a beaver dam. He turned around and looked like he was going to come up a hill to me, but was discouraged by thick brush. He turned and started walking away. I picked up a grunt call and gave a short grunt. He stopped and looked over his shoulder to me. Knowing he was about 50 yards and subsonic would be 5” high because I zeroed in at 25 yards, I aimed below his heart and pulled the trigger. He was hit just above the heart center of mass. He went 25 yrds and dropped. When I recovered the deer, I found the bullet just under the skin after going through the top of the leg. I weighed it after and it was 210 gr. The 8pt was the biggest taken off the farm this season. I really enjoyed hunting the with the 350 Legend 250grv subsonic with the AR pistol. I have a MOS-TEK fast twist barrel and Wilson Combat supressor. The heart and liver were ground up with some meat for the dogs as a raw diet treat for them.
