THE PERFECT TIP
The Heat Shield® tip is immune to the effects of aerodynamic heating and retains its shape to provide a perfect meplat (tip) that is always the same shape. The patented DVRT™ (Drag Variability Reduction Technology) increases bullet drag uniformity for less dispersion and smaller groups at longer ranges.
BULLET SHAPED FOR ACCURACY
Along with the Heat Shield® tip, the streamlined secant ogive with optimum boattail design and highly concentric AMP® bullet jackets combine for remarkable accuracy and best-in-class BCs.

Heat Shield® Technology
In 2012, Hornady engineers were tasked with creating a new bullet. The main goal was to have a hunting bullet that worked well at all practical distances. Plenty of bullets work well from 0-400 yards, few work well beyond that and none work well at both conventional and extended range.
