Travis Gibson

Gibson started shooting at 32 after deciding there was just too big of a chance for an ambulance ride with motocross and bull riding. He believes that shooting is so much safer!

USPSA was where Travis started early in 2006, and after shooting his first 3-gun match, he decided that was going to be his primary focus. "Requiring the shooter to be skilled with rifle and shotgun as well as pistol is what makes 3-gun such a challenge for me," said Travis.

Other shooting disciplines include long range rifle, USPSA, Steel Challenge, and International Defensive Pistol Association.

Gibson continually works on his skills and education and his scores are reflecting his hard work. "I make it to most of the nation’s top 3 gun matches, and I do my very best to be a good representative of all my sponsors," he explained. "Great sportsmanship, integrity, friendliness, and patriotism are just a few of the characteristics I try to demonstrate at every event I attend."

Travis Gibson has represented the following companies:

  • MGM Targets
  • Colt Competition Rifles
  • Cabelas
  • Hornady Manufacturing
  • Vortex Optics
  • Remington Defense
  • Warne Scope Mounts
  • JP Enterprises
  • Safariland
  • Crye Precision
  • COM Kydex
  • Tactical Solutions
  • Schuemann Barrels
  • Yeti Coolers

In an effort to help grow the shooting sports and give back to the community, Gibson frequently holds “ladies only” handgun classes and junior classes at VERY low rates (or no charge). Travis not only participates in shooting events, but has started two Steel Challenge clubs in Treasure Valley which have grown to over 40 participants (per week). He is also involved with MGM Junior Camp, which is a camp for junior shooters held at Parma Idaho every July. This camp boasts six of the world’s best shooters (multiple national and world championship titles) as instructors who teach up to 65 kids during the two-and-a-half day class. Several parents have remarked that this was a “life changing event” for their child.
