Lauryl Akenhead

Lauryl began competitive shooting at the young age of 11, earning multiple 4-H state championship titles. At 16, she won her first PRS (precision rifle series) match and has since become one of the top female PRS shooters in the world.

As a member of Team Hornady, Ruger, and Leupold, Lauryl has had numerous Top Lady and Production wins at both regional and national level PRS matches. She competed in the 2022 World Championship of Precision Rifle held in France and finished 2nd overall Lady.

“Lauryl’s training and focus have earned her a reputation as a top tier shooter, as well as a mentor for up-and-coming shooters,” said Matt Ritchie, Hornady Shooting Sports Coordinator. “We are thrilled to have her on Team Hornady,” he added.

Lauryl is also involved in several key segments of the shooting industry. She is instrumental in the design and development of a full line of shooting accessories with Sharps Mountain Outdoor Gear and runs numerous social media accounts where she has acquired a significant following promoting and increasing interest and involvement in precision rifle shooting.
