The Magical Morning

By Frank Patton

I was in my ladderstand on 11-17-18 and was waiting for shooting light, right before shooting light, I rattled and grunted and threw in a few estrous bleats, I had a big bodied 8 pointer stand quartering o me at 95 yards, pulled up my CVA Optima loaded with 2 triple 7 pellets and a 300 grain Hornady SST Sabot, carefully put it on his front shoulder and squeezed the trigger. This big bodied buck was knocked back 4-5 feet from the 300 grain sabot, he got his wits back and ran 25 yards before dying.
