From my stand a grassy knoll, I had packed away my range finder and binoculars as darkness descended. As I inserted the straw into my orange juice before heading back the car I looked up the paddock and saw movement, I assumed it was the kangaroos that had been grazing for the last hour or so. As I drank one of them moved and I thought "censored" roos don't move like that, so I vacated my juice in about 0.0002 seconds and got behind my Ruger American and through the Redfield I could see two does (and many roos) about 200 yards away. I shot the furthest one first, I heard "the thud" the second one bolted towards me and headed straight towards me to about 120 yards and stopped, I aimed mid chest and fired, another thud and it bolted and dropped dead about 30 meters from the first. I recovered one bullet from the first Fallow just under the skin behind the ribs. It weighed 66.9gr (47%) and expanded to 14.9mm. Better than double the 7mm it left my barrel at. Very good performance, with tasty results!
