Recovered bullet

By David

December 2, 2013

First day of rifle season in PA. Shot a 9 point first thing in the morning. Very nice deer. I was using a Ruger 7mm-08 with the 139gr. SST bullet. As always with the SST, one shot and he went straight down, not a step. This time I was able to recover the bullet. I shot him quartering towards me in the chest. The SST went through the ribs, destroyed the lungs and passed to the rear cavity and I found it lodged toward the ham. It mushroomed perfectly, just as advertised. Went to over a half an inch in diameter. AWESOME.
