I had the opportunity to hunt the Northern Whitetail deer out of MI the end of October of 2019. This was a special hunt in that I had chosen to use my Flintlock Southern Mountain Rifle. It is patterned after the guns that were produced in the mid to late 1700's. It was the third day of our hunt and we spotted a northern whitetail buck. We set out on a stalk and I was able to harvest this magnificent animal.

I use exclusively the Hornady .490 50 cal round ball in this gun. I was expecting a kick and run upon impact. However the buck dropped immediately.

Thanks Hornady for the consistency in your round balls. To me this is the buck of my lifetime.
