OCW Testing

On July 30, 2015 I headed to the range to test some rifle loads at 100-yards, which is the maximum at our range. Using the Hornady reloading manual I took my grandson's 7mm Rem Mag to the range to determine an optimum charge weight for the 162 gn A-Max with IMR 4350 powder. I fired two fouling rounds then proceeded with the 5-load testing. Each load had 4 rounds and the results were pretty amazing, resulting with the best 4-shots provided a group of less than 1/8" (.117) using 51.2 grains and OAL of 3.29.

My grandson was my shooting buddy and could have shot this better but he died in a motorcycle accident at age 17 on October 21,2014. Colton Buehner was the best shot I had ever seen. He built this 7mm based on the Remington action but went to a McGowan barrel, HS Precision stock, Barska 10x40 scope and a match trigger. Amazing bullet and rifle combination.

Thanks,
