Northern BC Moose

By Karl Moser

May 1, 2013

This moose was called in and shot on the 7th day of an eight day hunt in northern British Columbia. I shot him at 40 yards with Hornady Interbonds, my own reloads in 30-06, traveling 2700 fps. The impressive part was the weight retention. I fired two shots broadside, and both slugs were in the hide on the opposite side. Starting off at 180 grains.

The final weight of the two slugs was 164 and 152 grains. And perfectly mushroomed. What performance!! The moose was HUGE and had a 54 inch spread. This was an unguided resident hunt.
