Mozambique Buffalo

By Paul Collis

October 7, 2013

I have just returned from Mozambique with my 76 year old Father in law. Both took great Cape Buffalo. Mine was after tracking for 7 hours. The PH wanted me to use a soft point, but while he wasn't looking I changed to to a Hornady DGS solid in 300 grains for my .375. The tracker spotted the buffalo behind a large bush and as he stepped out moving away I fired, hitting him at the third rib travelling forward. In the process breaking his neck and dropping him on the spot. After travelling through about 1.5 meters of bone and muscle we found the projectile under the skin on the neck.
Only DGS for dangerous game.
