Monkey off my back

By Lynn Frock

December 9, 2013

I have been struggling to take a coyote with my Winchester model 70 .223 and fox pro for a year or better. November 2013 I went out about 9 a.m. rifle loaded with .223 55gr v-max. My second set of the morning I turn on the pup in distress call, finally here came a big coyote came into 15 yards but unfortunately the dog saw me and bolted! As he ran away I decided to take a hail mary shot at 200+, took aim, put cross hairs out in front of him running hard, I squeezed the trigger, boom as the dog roles and dust flew! I finally had a coyote down! The hornady bullet blew out the left side of the coyotes head.
