Mercy shot

Hunting the fall 2014 Minnesota Whitetail season... sat thru Saturday evening, both Sunday and Monday, didn't see sign of any deer, then finally Tuesday evening, I'm seeing deer, yet they're way out range 'n on posted land!

A group of seven deer spook, thought they may head my way... nope! Then the first group of three I've seen all afternoon show up, then started heading my way. Yes, they cross the property line! I bring my rifle up to decide whether I'd shoot one of these, passing upon the smaller two, fawns; so I moved over to the lead deer.

Wasn't able to determine what I was seeing, so I went back to see where the other two were, yep they're; so I brought up my spotting scope, that's when I saw that large infection sac between her front legs. That made up my mind, either this doe was sick or had a major problem.

So, I aim towards her center of mass, wind from NE, 180 yards away, major quartering away shot, head shot, dropped like a ton of bricks...

Thanks for providing such wonderful reloading tools, which gave me confidence to try this shot...
