I’ve read nemerous stories of hunters complaining about the performance of the 222/556 caliber on game. I want to state that I’ve used that caliber successfully on wild hogs up to 200 pounds and whitetail bucks. Utilizing the 60 grain Hornady Whitetail load as my hunting load. I’ve killed several hogs and whitetail with a single shot to the neck severing the Central Nervous System dropping the animals right there. No running no tracking.
