First hunting trip to Africa, and hand loaded up some 143gr eld-x on top of 43gr of reloader 16 for the 6.5 creedmoor. We were able to stalk up to 500 yards of some good sized gemsbok. With the sun behind us, we set up for the shot and I sent one right through the heart. He dropped about 20ft from where he was hit and didn’t move. Beautiful animal and perfect cartridge for plains game.
