First Big Moose

By Michael Hardy

October 17, 2016

My brother Kevin and I got to take my stepson out on a moose hunt finally. We got to spotting and Kevin and Michael spotted some bulls fighting about 5 miles from camp. We got down there and after going in the heavy timber after the herd of moose we finally got to a bull. My brother had spotted this one and as such shot it at about 60 feet. Nice 3x3 brow tine 54 incher. We then went up the hill calling and acting like this bull and got into the herd and found the other two bulls. The legal one was a little narrower than the other but had four by three brow tines. Michael shot the moose with his 30.06 with SST 165grn and put it down. 46 inch wide and long swept paddles. My brother and I are very proud of Michael. It was a hunt to remember.
