Fenceline shot

It was opening day, the snow was coming down. It was a cold day, we saw many deer that day but not the shot I wanted. We were sitting in our blind, I see this buck and a few doe up on the top of the hill. I took 2 shots with my .270 and thought I missed the shot. After sitting there a few minutes, my friend says you better go check it out. So I grabbed my DPMS .308, loaded with Hornady BTHP 168 grain. With my Nikon 4x16 M308 scope, outfitted with my SilencerCO Specwar 762 suppressor. I walk up the hill, and walk the fence line. I didn't see anything, so I kept walking and then I stopped. I see this doe, she is wagging her tail like a puppy, then to the left of her, I see this buck laying in the grass. All I could see is the antlers, he stands up and I raise my rifle, set it on the fence post, and take a shot. With the suppressor, the deer didn't run away. So I took another shot about 75 yards and heard the bullet hit the deer. Hit him right in the chest and when I gutted him, it was a heart shot, the bullet looked like the heart exploded.

The two doe run off. I could have shot the doe, but wanted my buck. I jumped the fence and found the buck 75 yards down the hill. He weighed over 250lbs, because he was so heavy to drag up the hill back to the fence and under the barbwire and load into the truck. This buck will be mounted in my house.
