In May 2016, I got to go on my "Bucket List" hunt to South Africa. I was having a grand hunt with my 27-year old PH, Bennie Breytenbach, and took 4 fine animals my very first day - Gemsbuck, Black Wildebeest, Hartebeest, and a Kudu. On day 4, horror of horrors! My gun failed me, and I missed 3 shots at Springbuck. Inspection revealed a broken trigger guard where an action screw goes through. I continued my hunt with Bennie's rifle, an old Musgrave Mauser in .30-06 with a horrible trigger and his handloads with Hornady 165 gr SST bullets. I went on to kill this fine 41" Sable at the end of a 5 hour chase over rugged terrain. The Hornady bullet worked flawlessly!
