In 1978 I purchased a Rem. 700 in 30-06. When my son got old enough to take over my rifle, I purchased a marlin x-7 in 7mm-08. I am disabled because of spinal problems, and have had my neck worked on twice. So, doc said NO RECOIL! That's why I went to the smaller caliber. I did a lot of homework on what cartridge to use, and liking what I read and heard, I chose the American Whitetail. on the opening morning of the gun season here in Arkansas, 2012, I put them to the test. My horse barn is 100 yards from my house, and I have been seeing deer come out right by it. So, opening morning I was sitting by the barn when this 24 point non-typical stepped into my pasture 40 yards from me. The bullet dropped him in his tracks. I recovered the bullet when I cleaned him and found that it perfectly expanded even at that close range. Thanks for making a great product!
