Jason put in for the Platte River Access Lottery put on by the Nebraska Game and Parks. Since deer season opened on 11/16/13 when Nebraska Cornhuskers were to play the Michigan State Football game, this would be the first time we missed watching the game together. I told him he could see the whole game without any troubles. He had to leave the house by 5:30am, shoot his deer no later than 8am, take to his favorite processor back home in Merna and be back home by 1pm. He said I was expecting a miracle. Well, he left the house about 5:30, got to his hunting spot on the Access Land about 6:30am... He shot his deer about 7am.. When he called me about 745am, I thought he was joking... but NOPE.. He shot this big 6x5 Whitetail Deer with Hornady .270 130 gr GMX. Long haul back from the far edge of the property to the road. He did make it back home in time to watch the football game.
