So, as a relatively new long range shooter with Santa Margarita Gun Club (Camp Pendleton USMC, CA) in less than 2 years I have come from knowing pretty much nothing to hand loading my own 6.5x284 rounds for the 1,000 yard matches in F-Open Class and have done pretty well. I added a 2nd gun to a second classification, F-TR; got a stock outta the box Savage F-TR in a .308 and in its 1st time out at 300 yards I shot 193-6 (193 out of 200 with 6 bullseyes) the bullseye is 1.5" or 1/2 MOA for a stock rifle and factory ammo (A-Max 308 in 168 gr).

Well, this last weekend we did a 600 yard "no wind" zeroing of the scopes and I shot a 197-14! We then moved to the 300 yard line and I shot a PERFECT 300-24!! WOW is all I can say about this A Max ammo, don't think I could have done better with handloads.

Got a shooting partner (former USMC sniper and current SWAT) who compared his hand loaded 6.5 Creedmore to the A Max- he says he's not going to hand load anymore!
