Accuracy in a modified Mosin Nagant 91-30. First, let me assure you that all modifications I have made to my MN 91-30 are easy to reverse. I can return the MN to original condition quickly and completely. I bought the MN as a project gun to see how much accuracy could be squeeze out of it. The expensive mods; Archangel Stock, new trigger, Precision Prototype & Machine scope mount. No cost mods; free floated the barrel and shimmed the barrel lugs. This weekend - outdoors, 100yards. Surplus ammo and new PPU ammo got about 2.5 MOA. About what I expected. Then shot Hornady's 7.62x54r 150 grn SST ammo. I was shocked. Sub-MOA accuracy. Actually got from 0.5 MOA up to 1.2 MOA with multiple 5 shot groups. The 1.2 was shooter error. What a round!
