I have just returned from safari in the Caprivi, Sikunga Conservancy of Namibia where me and my son shot 2 elephant and one hippo.

For Africa, this being my third safari, we use Hornady factory ammunition exclusively. I used a Merkel 140 in .470 NE and my son had a Kimber Caprivi in .375 HH, both loaded with Hornady Dangerous Game Solids (DGS). All recovered bullets were perfectly straight with only a very small part of the steel core extending from the base.

My Merkel regulated perfectly with the 500gr DGS and the Kimber will shoot a ragged hole at 50 yards all day.
