2016 Texas Mule Deer

By Bob Addy

December 6, 2016

2016 has been a tough mule deer season, especially in the Texas Panhandle where I hunt. The weeks prior to our short season (11/19-26) had been unseasonably warm. Lots of 1-3 year old bucks were seen but no shooters. The big guys were not moving. After four days of hard hunting I shot this nice 5x5 late in the evening. Not a monster but I was very proud to get him. Taken with Remington 700 CDL SF 300 WM and fueled with my handdloads consisting of Hornady brass and 165gr SST's. Dropped him shy of 300 yards. Thanks for building great components.
