2015 Elk

By Nick DiDomenico

October 28, 2015

Cow called him out of a stand of timber into a meadow and shot at 153 yards. He came out facing me and turned slightly to my right, so I shot him on his right side, almost head on. At the first shot, he didn’t move so I thought I missed, so shot again. This time he buckled and started to move, so I shot one more time and he hit the dirt. All three shots entered his right shoulder and exited on his far left. I was using Hornady 165 grain GMX’s in my 30/06 – complete pass through on all three, one after busting through his near shoulder!
