Texas hog in the rain

The wife and I were setting in camp under cover enjoying a crazy rain storm when a hog walked up to camp. He quickly ran off. I got my binoculars and checked the feeder about 120 yards away. The green light was on and he was under it. I grabbed my rifle and climbed my 8ft tower in the storm. Very difficult seeing him in the dark and rain. I finally got a second green light on him and let a round go. The impact was louder that the shot but I watched him run off into the brush.

The wife and I decided to wait about ten minutes (finish our beer) and walk down to see if we could find him. We knew I hit him with the impact. She was using my green light and I had a spot light. When I got about 20 yards from the feeder I noticed a second large hog under the feeder. The storm was covering our approach and he didn't notice the white light. I took a one handed shot with my pistol while holding the spot light in the others. I'm sure I didn't hit the second one but I didn't care as I really wanted him out of there.

We searched for a while in the rain then decided to head back to camp for another beer. Went out in the morning and look what I found. He was 220 lbs with small cutters. I hit him with a 308 and he still made it about 35 yards. I'm really glad he didn't stay in camp long. Great time at our property. The dog and kids were the smart ones as they were in the RV when this all went down.
