My 1st Deer

By Kevin Murray

I have hunted off and on for several years, mostly to hang out with the crew, not really serious. Last year, I started hunting with my brother in law, and I really got serious. This year, I was able to hunt with my sister, who is in the attached picture with me. I am 42 years old, and I am very excited with my first buck, and I was able to take my first doe at the same time. It was the last evening of our hunt, and I was getting very discouraged. Then a buck chased a doe out into the field where we were hunting. The buck stopped right at 300 yards from my tree stand, and I leveled my 308 rifle, and adjusted for the distance, fired, but I didn't think I hit the buck as he ran about 15 steps and lowered his head. I chambered another round, and fired again. The buck dropped, and we are pretty sure the 1st shot was the kill shot. The doe he was chasing did not leave, so I had a doe tag and used it, as you can see in the picture. The doe was out further, about 315 yards. We did not have to track either deer, as they both dropped very close to where they were shot. I believe this is due to the quality of product your company produces. I have converted my sister and brother in law to Hornady products, and we all know we are using the best product.

Thank you for creating a product that is Accurate, Deadly, and Dependable.
