After a 45 minute hike arriving at my stand at 05:00 hours. I ascended the tree and the wait for the beautiful December 2015 Piney Woods East Texas sunrise began. I remember looking at my watch at exactly 09:00 hours. At 09:23 my chin hit my chest startling me awake. As I collected myself I saw movement to my left 50 yds away. This 8 point buck and one of his friends would have walked right past my stand had it not been for GOD waking me up and the Hornady 30 caliber .308 GMX 150 gr. bullet I had handloaded!
