Jim Shockey

Around the globe, Jim Shockey needs no introduction as a hunter, conservationist, adventurer and outdoor programming pioneer. The host of “Jim Shockey’s Uncharted Yukon” and “Jim Shockey’s Hunting Adventures,” he has built a reputation as a world-leading outdoor writer, wildlife photographer, videographer, naturalist, wilderness guide and outfitter.

A hunting industry professional for more than 30 years, Shockey owns several exclusive outfitting territories in the wild lands of his native Canada and is accomplished in archery, muzzleloading and rifle.

Shockey has searched the Northwest Territories for caribou with the Dene first nations people. He has studied the tracking skills of the Bushmen of the Kalahari Desert and learned to live off the land from the Aboriginal People of the Australian Outback.

Shockey works with his wife, Louise; daughter, Eva; and son, Branlin, and considers time spent with family as one of his fundamental reasons for hunting. He also regards hunters and the revenue they generate as vital to the conservation of the world’s wild places and creatures.
