On this episode, the topic is medium and big game hunting ammunition offerings from Hornady. Seth talks with Assistant Director of Engineering, Joe Thielen and Technical Services Representative, Matt Ritchie and they discuss the features and benefits of each line and why you might choose one over the other, depending on the application. We have numerous options when it comes to hunting ammunition; if you've ever wondered which one is right for you, check out this podcast.

Ep. 029
External Ballistics Part One

Watch on Vimeo

On this episode, Seth is joined by Senior Ballistician, Jayden Quinlan and Ballistic Engineering Technician, Jacob Morrow. We continue our discussion of ballistics, focusing on the external factors that influence a bullets behavior in flight. This topic is incredibly complex but also very interesting. Due to its complexity, we tried to give the listener an understandable analogy for each topic, rather than a textbook definition. While the analogies do not always perfectly describe exactly what's occurring, they help tremendously in making a complex topic easier to understand. We hope you enjoy this deep dive into external ballistics.

Ep. 028
Internal Ballistics

Watch on Vimeo

On this episode, Seth sits down with Ballistic Development Group members Jayden Quinlan, Jacob Morrow, and Miles Neville to continue the discussion of ballistics. This time, we talk all things internal ballistics. From the moment the sear drops to the bullet leaving the barrel, we dive deep on what happens during the firing event as well as some discussion on pressure. We hope you enjoy this unique opportunity to learn about the relatively unknown world of internal ballistics.

Ep. 027
Sub - X® Bullets and Subsonic Ammunition

Watch on Vimeo

On this episode, Seth is joined by project engineers Ryan Damman and Miles Neville. We’re talking all things design and application of Hornady Sub-X® bullets and Subsonic ammunition. Doppler Radar & A Brief History of Ballistics

Watch on Vimeo

On this episode, Seth is joined by Jayden Quinlan and Jacob Morrow from our ballistic engineering department.
