I have been hunting hogs and deer with the 45-70 caliber for many years. The Hornady 325 gr. LEVERevolution is by far the most accurate round I've used in my Marlin 1895ss. Here is a pic of one of the big pigs I've taken over the years.The bullet hit him in the neck just behind the head and exited the chest. I have yet to recover a 45-70 bullet from any game....They usually drop very close to where there shot...
