I had a chance to take my stepdaughter on a hunt in 2008 and had her using a 7mm with 154grn SST's. As we were teaching her how to flyfish I spotted a bull up the side of the mountain right above us, so I climbed on top of my rig and was judging how big when I spotted another group of bulls (8) total about a half mile across the side of the mountain. After assessing the bulls and putting the first in the high fifties I gathered everybody up and off we went. The five of us stalked up the mountain closing the distance. I got us as close as we could with out going through a ravine and losing sight of the bull. He was bedded down about seven hundred yards out. Raking the brush and some soft bull grunting and he was up and coming. He came down the hill and across thrashing and breaking the little tundra spruce trees as he approached ever so closer. Cresting the last little knoll, as I was calling, my brother gave her the go ahead to shoot him. 220 yards, one shot, and he disappeared out of sight straight down. She had hit him just left of the center of his forehead. The SST bullet had done its job perfectly. After a quiet celebration we worked our way across the ravine and up to the bull. 58 7/8 with three brow tines on the left and three on the right.
