I shoot a 6x5 bull elk in Montana during my first elk hunt. I used 225 gr. .338 Interlock bullets in my 338-06.
The elk came out of a draw about 200 yards away and I got a shot at about 175. He was quartering towards me and the shot shattered his leg, went through a rib and exited behind the ribs on the other side. He reversed direction, heading for a steep ravine so and I shot again. This bullet shattered the back leg and exited behind the ribs. The elk went about 20 yards and went down, never to move again.
The bullet's performance far exceeded my expectations-Thanks Hornady!!
