Just a note on your 17 HMR ammo. I was a avid gopher hunter in Alberta and I shoot a Remington 597 Magnum in 17 HMR. I have shot 330 shots and hit 225 gophers confirmed kills. It has a Leupold scope 12x with variable objective. I have shot 1000's of rounds through this semi-auto rifle and have never had a jam or stoppage with the Hornady ammo. Its always been reliable and I have made some outstanding shots up to 400 yards. This rimfire weapon is outstanding and with the HMR ammo, it's deadly. This is my wife's favorite rifle now and she's an amazing shot. We shoot rabbits in BC and have shot 12 in a day. She shoots them in the eyes and vary rarely misses. She can shoot targets and put bullets throught the same hole.
