Max Michel Grabs 5th Win at the Double Tap Championship in Wichita Falls
Team Hornady member Max Michel defied Mother Nature and her bag of distractions to win the Open Division at the second largest IPSC/USPSA three day match in the United States. With a field of over 290 shooters, Max's focused and competitive nature overcame the adverse weather conditions that shooters had to contend with. Temperatures in the high 20's, 25 mph winds and snow made for cold, muddy stages in the Lone Star State.
"The Flintstones" was the theme for this year’s match providing competitors with cleverly designed stages named after familiar cartoon props allowing competitors to test their defensive skills. Whether it was the Stone Bowling stage, Rock Quarry or the Brontosaurus Rib, Michel executed all of them with his usual fast paced approach using Hornady bullets.
Max said, "When I'm competing and engaging targets that are from point blank to 50 yards, I use the Hornady 124 grain XTP in my 38 Super Comp. It's very consistent and very accurate."
Keep an eye out for more news from Max next week as he will be competing at the US Steel Nationals this weekend in Titusville, Florida.
