Michel Takes Area 6 Championship Open Division Title for Seventh Time
Team Hornady member Max Michel competed at the 2010 USPSA Area 6 Championship this past weekend, winning the Open Division, which was comprised of 105 shooters. The 12 stage match has a solid reputation for luring world class professional competitors and was held at the South River Gun Club in Covington, GA.
Max said, "Every stage was designed with so many technicalities from shooting at paper, steel, and swingers to International targets that I shot Hornady 124 grain XTP. It's the best all around bullet for the Open Division and with the XTP bullet; I knew it would provide the accuracy I required for some of the partially obstructed targets. I really enjoyed the pressure of shooting alongside of my peers at this match, the competition was intense."
Fellow Team Hornady member Nic Neel, made his debut competing in the Area 6 Match, taking High Junior in the Open Division. Nic said, "I used Hornady 121 grain HAP bullets for this match because the extra amount of precision provided by the quality of the bullet was helpful. Stage 9 was my favorite; it was an eight round speed shoot with two fast swingers and a disappearing drop out target activated by two large poppers."
