Heartland Public Shooting Park to host event
This weekends event will feature nationally recognized shooters
The United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) Area 3 competition will be held at the Heartland Public Shooting Park in Grand Island this Friday through Sunday, August 6-8, 2010. Sponsored by Hornady Manufacturing, Team Hornady® members, Mike Voigt, Max Michel, Maggie Reese, and Nic Neel will be competing as well as noteworthy shooters like Blake Miguez, who has been featured on the History Channel's "Top Shots" and the United States Army Marksmanship Unit out of Ft Benning Georgia.
Sherwyn Greenfield, USPSA Area 3 Director says, "We've got shooters coming from Canada, Jamaica and everywhere in between. With over 225 competitors already signed up, the match is going to be exciting and impressive." Greenfield adds, "Heartland Public Shooting Park is a great venue because it is so spectator-friendly. It is easy for folks to walk up and see exactly how big the whole match is and get around to each individual stage for a closer look."
The match is open to the public and spectators are encouraged to attend. The USPSA Area 3 competition is a large match that draws shooters from all over the world and offers a great opportunity for anyone to come out and see world renowned shooters quickly and safely negotiate 14 stages and fire 83,475+ rounds between Friday morning and Sunday afternoon.
"Watching professional athletes shoot is an experience that will leave most people, even those without a background in competitive shooting, in awe," comments Hornady Manufacturing spokesman Steve Johnson. "Action pistol shooting is far different from the shooting disciplines that we're used to seeing here locally, like trap, skeet or sporting clays. There is a lot more shooter movement and some very complicated stages - it will not let the spectator down."
USPSA shooting is fast paced and fun to watch, take a look for yourself: USPSA video footage.
