Team Hornady® Delivers Wins at Area 4 USPSA and FNH 3-Gun Nation Pro Event

September kicked off with several division wins at the Area 4 USPSA Championships and at the 3-Gun Nation Pro Event, where Team Hornady® paired the right choice of Hornady® ammo with excellent marksmanship skills to deliver winning results.

The Old Fort Gun Club, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas played host as the Area 4 USPSA Championship came to Arkansas for the first time during September 5- 8, 2013. Attracting 254 competitors from 12 states and representation from Thailand and Canada, the Level III match presented 12 stages designed to force competitors to dial back on their speed and footwork, and instead focus on taking a measured shot for that perfect sight picture.

Max Michel (shown above) won the Open Division shooting Hornady® 125 grain HAP® bullets. “Like every Hornady projectile, HAP bullets always provide me with a great balance of reliability, accuracy and consistency,” said Michel. “That's why I continue to use them.”

Jessie Duff finished second in the Open Division shooting Hornady® 125 grain HAP® bullets in her 38 Super Comp pistol. .

Delivering a strong performance in the Limited Division, Blake Miguez finished second shooting Hornady® 200 grain FMJ bullets in his 40 cal pistol.

Jerry Miculek won the Revolver Division shooting Hornady® 230 grain FMJ reloaded bullets. Miculek stated, “It’s an outstandingly accurate, fast and a consistent reload that I can count on.”

Keith Garcia won the final leg of the 3-Gun Nation Pro Event held at the US Shooting Academy in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Despite a +100° degree heat index coupled with high humidity; Garcia relied on raw tenacity to win the match. After completing five stages of fire, only the top 10 three-gunners ran the sixth and final stage, with Garcia winning the first three.

Garcia shot Hornady 125 grain Critical Defense® ammo in his 9mm handgun, and Hornady® 223 Rem 53 grain V-MAX® Superformance® ammo in his rifle. “The handgun shots required both speed and precision,” said Garcia. “Hornady Critical Defense is always very accurate, yet soft on recoil.”

Adam Popplewell had a strong match as well, finishing in fourth place.
