2014 Summer Success for Jessie Duff
Team Hornady’s Jessie Duff Doubles Up Summer Wins
Team Hornady® member Jessie Duff won the Ladies Open Division at the Double Tap Championship, June 13-15, 2014 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Shooting Hornady® 124 grain HAP® bullets loaded in her 38 Super Comp pistol, Duff said, “I can always count on HAP bullets to be consistent and feed reliably, which equates to pinpoint accuracy.”
It was Duff’s first time shooting in the Lone Star state and at the 12-stage match, adding “The match presented some fun, challenging stages and I was able to get some good training in before the 2014 World Shoot."
Duff’s success on the range continued at the Steel Challenge 2014 World Speed Shooting Championship, June 25-28, 2014. Winning both the Ladies Open and Ladies Limited Division titles, Duff shot Hornady® 115 grain 9mm HAP® in her pistol. “I can always count on Hornady ammo, whether I'm shooting a USPSA match or Steel Challenge,” she said. “Whether I'm going for speed, accuracy or both, Hornady ammo gets the job done."
Competitors faced dry, hot and windy weather at the Southern Utah Shooting Sport Park in St. George, Utah, which hosted the match for the first time. The Zion National Park Mountains provided a scenic backdrop as competitors glimpsed roadrunners, jackrabbits and a few stray fox wandering onto the range.
Going into this competition as the defending champion, Duff said, “I prepare for the Steel Challenge the same way each year, by setting up the match at home and training on the actual stages. Repetition is important in practice, and building up the confidence to go as fast as possible while maintaining accuracy.”
