Team HornadyŽ Scores in June Handgun Championships


Team Hornady® member, Max Michel (shown above), won his sixth Double Tap Championship in the Open division, shooting Hornady® bullets, June 7-9, 2013, at the Double Tap Ranch in Wichita Falls, Texas. The match attracted 296 competitors from 46 states, including 21 Grand Masters and 42 Master Class shooters. Known for designing the most creative course of fire in the country, Match Director Rob Porter incorporated a "Men in Black" theme complete with Alien and Ford Galaxy 500 cutouts throughout the 14-stage, Level II match.

With a score of 1731.5 match points, Michel shot Hornady® 125 grain HAP® bullets in his pistol. "The consistency, accuracy and reliability of Hornady bullets produce winning results that I've come to rely on," he explained. "The addition of two stages this year took a toll on all of us, but that's what I enjoy about the competition. It's a test of endurance as well as mental toughness."

Jerry Miculek won his 21st consecutive Open division ICORE title at the International Revolver Championships, May 31-June 2, 2013. The 12-stage match was held at the San Luis Obispo Sportsmen's Association in California. Miculek shot Hornady® 158 grain Lead Pistol bullets. Miculek added, "I always enjoy shooting at a match that highlights my favorite handgun, with bullets that are always dependable."

Miculek also won the Texas State IDPA Championships, Enhanced Service Revolver division on May 25th, shooting Hornady® 230 grain FMJ bullets.

In her first time competing at the Arkansas Sectional Handgun Championship in Little Rock, Jessie Duff won the Ladies Open division, shooting Hornady® 125 grain 9mm HAP® bullets loaded for her 38 Super Comp pistol. "I shoot 38 Super Comp major in USPSA so I can obtain more points per hit," said Duff. "Hornady 125 grain HAP bullets make a perfect load with very little recoil that I've come to love from Hornady!"
